In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Nokomis; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in Florida are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.

Really great bbq! Super juicy and moist. My pulled pork sandwich held up really well on the drive home. The pork was tender and delicious. The bun was good as well! I will say as far as sides, the bbq beans were just okay for me. The mac and cheese was the biggest let down. There was hardly any flavor. I do appreciate that it was creamy, not a fan of dry mac and cheese!

I tried Yo Daddio BBQ for the first time today and it was EXCELLENT!! The pulled pork was moist and had just enough smoke. The sauce was very good (not enough of it. I will ask for 2-3 next time) The slaw was just how I like it: vinegar based and crunchy. The bourbon baked bean were different from any I've ever had and were delicious. I will back and plan to tell others! Great job

Tried Yo Daddio! last night for the first time at Ranch Night at Waterside in Lakewood Ranch. First, the brisket was quite literally THE best we've ever had! We also had the turkey, which was top-notch too, just the right amount of seasoning and not dry at all! Lastly, and my favorite item of the night, which is saying something, were the Texas Twinkies. Jalapenos, stuffed with brisket, wrapped in bacon and lightly coated in a sweet and tangy sauce of their own creation. Never had anything like it before but now I'll be visiting the truck every chance I get! Definitely make a trip to wherever they are near you if you can, you will not regret it.

While visiting Venice during the thanksgiving holiday, we couldn’t decide what to do about having our meal at home or going to a restaurant. Not wanting to cook a big meal, and after my husband mentioned buying a smoked turkey breast, I looked to see if I could buy one from a grocery store or shop nearby and found Yo Daddio. It was easy to order via a message, simple to pick up from the food truck, and so easy to bake at home on the holiday. It was wonderfully smoky, super juicy, and fork tender. Idk what they do to make it so delicious but it made our thanksgiving so easy and enjoyable instead of spending too much time cooking. Next time we’re in Venice, we’ll be back to try other bbq options from the food truck!

We were recently invited to join the Oh Daddio Food Truck for their Family & Friends event, and what an experience! We were warmly welcomed by Dawn, while Mark was hard at work behind the scenes cooking up an unforgettable gourmet meal. Everything we tried was absolutely delicious and perfectly tender. The standout dishes? The smoked brisket and pulled pork — both were exceptional! And the sides were just as memorable: the mac and cheese was rich and comforting, and the “pineapple crack” lived up to its name in the best way. Even my boyfriend, who’s an executive chef, was seriously impressed — and that’s saying something! We’re already looking forward to the next event. Don’t miss a chance to try them out!
